Nanook of the North

Filmed over a number of years in a remote region of Quebec, this production portrays the ingenuity and of an Inuit family in the infamously pitiless arctic climate. Touted by many as the first documentary, and true to its contemporary form, this work contains some scenes which may have been staged. Nanook of the North reveals the extreme and magnificent environment where the family hunt, fish, and make their home.
